PLEASE NOTE:

5/8" razor hex-nuts have changed. If you have an older 5/8" razor with a hole diameter of 1/8", please select the OLD hexnut assembly. If you have a newer 5/8" razor with a hole diameter of 3/16", please select the NEW hexnut assembly.

This hex nut assembly allows you to easily swap out the scales on your 5/8, 6/8 or 7/8 Hart Steel straight razor. Assembly includes pin nut and 2 silicone washers (5/8 set comes with a third, steel washer). Silicone washers are meant to rest inside the monoscale aiding in a smooth tang pivot. Steel washer in the 5/8ths models goes just beneath the head of the pin assembly. Assembly is tightened with a 5/64" (6/8th & 7/8 razors) or a .050" hex wrench (5/8 razor) which IS NOT included with purchase of this assembly but IS included with every Hart Steel razor purchase. Wrong size

Size was incorrect for the razor I have, so they had to be returned.

Easy replacement of pins with hex nuts.

Very easy to pin razor to scales, no pining required and makes it so easy to replace scales.

Hart pivot screw & nut

I use the Hart pivot assembly so I can remove the scales periodically from my favorite Wade & Butcher razor. You will probably need to enlarge the blade pivot hole. I use a series of small diamond impregnated & tapered grinding bits. Some patience is required as blade steel is very hard. Clamp the blade in a vice to do this operation. Work from side to side gradually enlarging the hole. In time the hole will be large enough for the new pivot assembly. I use a small drop of Loctite blue to set the tension on the pivot. The Loctite will prevent the screw from loosening. Thanks and good luck, Dave.
