If you are purchasing your own scales, not from ClassicShaving.com - the scales and razor must ship together to the service in Idaho to avoid confusion. They BOTH must be in the SAME shipment to Idaho.

Overall a good job.

fast turnaround, fast shipping. You rescaled half a dozen razors for me total. You did a good job rescaling the razors in that the blades were all centered and snug but not overly tight. However, you left a lot of burrs, or snags, which I buffed out with my dremel.

  • How long have you been Wet Shaving? I'm 73. Been straight razor shaving since I started shaving. My father used a straight razor, so I grew up with them.
  • Do you prefer a Safety Razor or Straight Razor? Straight razor. Closer shave.
  • Do you prefer a Shave Soap or Cream? I just rub a bar of ivory and lather it up. Ivory was designed to be a shave soap.
  • Have You Ever Tried a Pre-Shave Oil or Lotion? Not really. I usually begin with holding a hot, wet towel on my face>

Great service! I love my new scales.

I've been straight razor shaving for about 2 moths now and I started with a Gold Dollar because if I liked it I would get a better one and if I didnt like it then it was an inexpensive investment. I ended up liking it, got some really good stones and got some of the best shaves of my life. I noticed the gold dollar scales were made of wood and they were cracked and so I don't really like the idea of cheap cracked wood and humidity. Nobody wanted to rescale my gold dollar because they are difficult to work with but classic shaving did, they did an amazing scaling job. Not only that but I live in Puerto Rico and not everyone works with us because we are still a territory of the United States so in other words some people view us as a state but other shipping services don't. Classic shaving had amazing customer service and they got my scales really quick. I really appreciate not only the amazing work on the scales but also the great customer service. 5/5. Gave my Dad’s Razor a Facelift

Great process. Got the new scales put on, and was sent back to me quick. They are sturdy and serve their purpose. Nice to be able to use it again. Good feel in the hands.

Rescaled and honed

They did an excellent job of honing my straight razor, and the new scale they put on was good, and I felt the price of it all was good as well. I only wish they could allow for telephone communications. Their website says they can’t take calls because of Covid, but their emails said they couldn’t because of staffing. I operate a hotel, so I know staffing is difficult, but certainly not insurmountable. Anyhow, the end result was very good, so I shouldn’t complain.
