Are there skin types more appropriate for cartridge razors?

With proper technique and skin preparation, men with any skin type can greatly benefit from using a double edge safety razor with the appropriate blade. Some men, particularly those with fair skin and light beard growth, may find that a cartridge razor delivers a satisfactory shave for them; however, men with normal-to-thick beard growth tend to have more difficulty using cartridge type razors. These men may find that the double-edge razor provides a smoother and more comfortable shave. Some men with dermatological or medical issues may be directed by their physicians to use only a cartridge razor if they are undergoing specific treatments or medications. For example, some men on blood thinners may be instructed to use cartridge razors because of the decreased risk of nicks and cuts.
